Our interior decorating process
We want to do the best job for you and your property. In order to do this, we have a thorough process to get to know what you want from your decorating project and your timeline.
Our process will start with a consultation, in which we can discuss the work you are looking to complete in more detail, discussing colour options, paint finishes and painting processes.
We are able to provide colour samples as we work with you to select your preferred colour.
Once we have an overall view of the rest of the project and a clear picture of what we will be painting, we will arrange a date to begin the interior decorating.
There are several steps that we will undertake to prepare a room for decorating:
- Remove any furniture possible from the space
- Cover remaining furniture
- Lay sheets on the floor
- Tape around light switches and edges of the walls
Each project is different, with the space and decorating varying. Therefore, we will run through our preparation process with you in further detail as we book a date for the work to be done.
Door and furniture painting can be an intricate part of interior decorating.
Different types of furniture will require a slightly different process. We will explain how we work in more detail in our consultation once we understand the furniture we will be working on.
A general process will include:
- Sanding down (where needed)
- Undercoat
- Topcoat
- Finishing coat and touches
At AJ Nehlig, we use the latest equipment, technology and techniques to provide an efficient and quality interior decorating service.
For our ceiling and wall painting, we can use spray equipment that allows us to achieve an even and flawless covering quickly. Using this technique, we can repaint or spray paint newly plastered walls.
This is a three-step process:
- Undercoat – preparing the surface
- Topcoat – including colour
- Final finishes – creating a smooth-to-touch finish
Our teams ensure we leave the place exactly as we found it, so we thoroughly clean up when we finish our work.
This will include carefully removing any sheets from the floor and furniture and folding them up so we don’t get paint on any areas of your property.
We will take any leftover paint with us for safe and compliant disposal, along with any brushes and rollers we use for cleaning.
